If you haven’t read The Regret Duet yet, trust me—you’re missing out on something truly special. This series is a whirlwind of emotions, and it grips you from the start. Personally, I enjoyed the sequel even more than the first part. It was the perfect mix of funny, sad, heartbreaking, mysterious, and full of surprises.
The Characters
I could go on forever about how much I adore Hadley and Caven. Their growth throughout the story was so beautifully written, and I found myself constantly amazed at how far they came. But honestly? Caven and Rosie’s bond was my absolute favorite. These two completely stole my heart.
The Plot
Caven is a strong, powerful single dad. Then we meet Hadley, the mother of his daughter. The big secret of the story is revealed earlier than I expected—right in the first half of the book! At first, I was nervous. I thought, “If the worst is already over, what’s left for the rest of the book?” Well, let me tell you… a lot of suffering and an absolutely shocking plot twist! I was in complete disbelief while reading the last part.
Their story is heartbreakingly sweet, in a way that’s hard to put into words. You feel every emotion alongside them, and it sticks with you long after you finish reading.
Final Thoughts
It might feel a bit frustrating at first, but trust me—it’s all worth it. The emotional payoff at the end will leave you in awe. While it’s not one of the darkest romances out there, it has everything a book lover could ask for.
It took me days to recover from this book, and honestly, I’m still obsessed. I’d recommend going in blind, because the unexpected twists will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
It’s one of the few books I wish I could erase from my memory, just so I could experience it all over again.
